Preparing our students for life

The School of the Madeleine empowers our students with the skills they need to succeed in high school, college, and in life. We offer much more than just a strong academic program and rigorous curriculum. We also instill in our students a strong sense of community, an empathy for others, an acumen for critical thinking, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

The Madeleine curriculum combines a mix of creativity, critical thinking and communication skills to best prepare our students for high school and beyond. Last year’s graduating class ranked at the top fifteen percent (15%) nationally on the Iowa Test for Basic Skills, and our alumni attend top local high schools such as St. Mary’s, Bishop O’Dowd, College Preparatory School, Immaculate Conception Academy, the IB program at Berkeley High, and others.

Our programs include Marine Activities Research & Education (MARE), Art in Action, Shakespeare, Geography Bee, Science,

Fair, Young Authors Fair, Walk Thru History, and more. Extracurricular activities include TechTeam, Drama, Band, Sports, Dance, Art, and more.

About two-thirds of the student body participates in CYO sports programs, including basketball, volleyball and track.
